That One

While making a point during the most recent debate, John McCain referred to Barack Obama not as “Senator Obama” or “Barack” but “That One.”

He was explaining, at the time, his opposition to the 2005 Bush energy bill which was, in McCain’s words, “loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies.” McCain then tried to explain how Obama apparently supported this bill but he didn’t, but did so in a tone that was blatantly disrespectful to Obama:

“You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one,” said McCain, pointing at Obama, not even looking at him while doing so. “You know who voted against it? Me.”

Pundits, bloggers and columnists from far and wide have been denouncing McCain’s demeaning reference, calling it disrespectful and, in some cases, blatantly racist.

But people have responded by saying “That One is my candidate for President,” and “I’m voting for That One.” The message has appeared on everything from blogs to T-shirts.

So I decided to do my part:

I’ve created three posters that you can download and use however you wish.  The three images above link to larger JPG versions.  To download all three as a high-resolution PDF that you can print out and post, click here.

Let’s show Mr. McCain that he can’t disparage Barack Obama or anyone else.  Let’s take back “That One” and vote for him this November.  Click the logo below to go to my personal website and make a donation to his campaign.

John McCain and the Keating Five Connection

John McCain and Sarah Palin opened a can of worms when they accused Barack Obama of associating with “terrorists,” namely former 1960’s radical William Ayers. In addition, they have begun to ramp up his associations with Anton Rezko and Rev. Jeremiah Wright, which have both been well explained and run-through during the Democratic primaries.

So, in response, Barack Obama and Joe Biden have presented, on their website and their YouTube channel, “Keating Economics: John McCain & The Making of a Financial Crisis.”

I think it’s pretty easy to see which association is more dangerous to the future of our country.
