My trip to Eagle River

Eagle River, WI is a tiny little town waaaay up in the northern part of the state. You’d think it was completely podunk, but it was really quite lovely. My friend Jeremy’s family has a cabin up there and he’s been talking for years now about getting a group of us to go up there and experience a weekend at the cabin. Well this year was that year… and not a moment too soon.

It was absolutely lovely. The cabin itself isn’t really a cabin at all– hell it’s bigger than my parent’s house! There were plenty of beds for everyone and three bathrooms. Hardly roughing it. But who cares. Outside the back patio (or lanai, as Jeremy called it), there was a gorgeous lake just waiting to be explored.

And explore we did… by speedboat, pontoon boat, on waterskis, tubes, rafts, and just plain swimming. It was beautifully warm, both in the air and in the water, and extremely relaxing. Even though we were only there for a few days, I have to say it was one of the nicest vacations I’ve taken in a long time. And certainly easy on the pocketbook too. 🙂

So here are some pictures from my trip– there are more on my Flickr site, so feel free to check them out too!
